2,300 students of West View High, file into the bleachers of anticipation and of what to come.
A recording goes over the speakers.
“This is Gary Bloxom reporting for 97.1 Charlie FM. This just in from Washington County. There has been an accident at the intersection of West Union Rd. and NW 185th Ave. It is reported there are multiple injuries and a possible fatality.”
Nick entered the intersection against a red light and struck the other vehicle in the passenger door. Nolan who was not wearing a seatbelt is thrown through the windshield and is killed instantly due to the incredible forces.
Kelsey, and Melissa suffer minor injuries.
Another vehicle that contains students from Westview High School is the first on the scene and someone uses their cell phone to call for help.
Their call for help will start a chain of events in motion that will involve five agencies who will work feverishly together to ensure that the victims get the best possible care and those who can, will survive.”
Someone recognizes Nolan and uses their cell phone to call his house. His mother and father rush to the crash site.
Officer suspect that Nick had been drinking and have him conduct FST's.
Nick is soon arrest for DUII and is taken to jail.
The Medical examiner arrives and notifies Nolan's parents that he has been killed.
Nolan is placed in a body bag and is taken away.
Medical examiner, "I am the Medical Examiner for Washington County. I see too many teens dying, due to drinking and driving."
Now I want you to imagine your parents when I show up at their door at 3:00 a.m. to tell them you’re dead because of a drunk driver.
Are you drinking and driving? Are you wearing your seat belt? Are you texting and driving?
Am I going to see one of you this year? Will I use this toe tag on you?
Or you ?
“Authorities in Washington County are reporting another tragedy tonight involving a vehicle occupied by students of Westview High School. One student Nolan Kane was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities report that alcohol was a factor in the collision.”
Don't Drink and Drive!
Don't use the phone or text while driving. You may have just saved someones life.
